After weeks of upsets, loyal regulars and plenty of debates about “what makes a dive bar,” Billiards on Broad has been crowned the the Best Dive Bar in Columbus.
Known for its no-frills vibe, pool tables and die-hard regulars, Billiards outlasted some of Columbus’ most favorite dives to claim the big title. With thousands of bar patrons weighing in, the results point to Billiards as the dive bar staple in town.
Part of the historic Broadway strip, Billiards has pool tables, dart boards and in true dive bar fashion, a cigarette machine in the back. It has built a reputation as a low-key gathering spot known to stay open late and host a loyal group of regulars.
Many of their regulars are in the service industry themselves and Billiards takes care of their own, staying open until 3 a.m. most nights with discounts on pool, darts and booze, including $3 PBRs.
Billiards hosts all kinds of events from karaoke to music bingo to “Thirsty Thursdays” which demands the “degenerates assemble” for “pure dive bar chaos all night.” On this very special occasion, Billiards is throwing a little party Thursday night to celebrate the big win.
