Stray Showers Through The Weekend, Fall Arrives Monday!

THIS WEEKEND:Fall is quickly approaching, but it doesn’t really feel like it! For your Saturday expect clouds to build this afternoon with a stray shower possible and afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s. Sunday, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day and a stray shower possible, mainly for our Alabama counties. Highs will be in the low 90s.

NEXT WEEK:Fall arrives on Monday, but it won’t feel like it. Monday and Tuesday, we’ll see sunshine with some passing clouds each afternoon, but remain mostly dry with afternoon highs climbing into the low 90s, so staying above average. Midweek, we’ll see an area of low pressure form off tou our northwest and drag a front with into the Chattahoochee Valley by late week. Wednesday, we could see stray shower late, but better rain chances come in for Thursday and the first half of Friday as that front works it’s way into and through the region. Behind the front, we’ll see our rain chances diminish once again, so hopefully we get some rain out of this system before it moves out, as we just over 2 inches below average for the month, and approaching 4 inches below average for the year.

TROPICS:Tropical Storm Gabrielle is expected to become a hurricane sometime on Sunday, but it is expected to curve out into the open Atlantic, so she is no threat to land. Elsewhere, a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic has been given a 20% chance of development over the next 7 days, and any development that occurs will be slow…
