Preliminary hearing set for suspect in retired Auburn professor’s murder

A hearing has been scheduled for the man accused of killing retired Auburn University professor Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle.

According to court records, a preliminary hearing for Harold Dabney, III, has been set for Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. in Lee County.

Dabney is charged with two counts of capital murder. Schnuelle was found dead in a wooded part of Kiesel Park on Sept. 6. She taught at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine…
