COLUMBUS — Two South Georgia softball teams completed their climbs from the bottom bracket to claim back-to-back state championships at the South Commons Softball Complex.
Citizens Christian Academy and Southwest Georgia Academy both needed two wins to finish their championship runs after earlier losses in the tournament.
CCA wins in walkoff fashion
CCA faced David Emanuel Academy after DEA had run-ruled the Patriots just one day earlier.
In game one, CCA jumped to an early lead when Peighton Harper delivered a two-run hit with the bases loaded, extending the Patriots’ advantage to four runs.
