Beyond the Yellow Tape: Columbus murder case remains unsolved 22 years later

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – A 22-year-old murder case in Columbus remains unsolved after charges against a suspect were dismissed for lack of evidence.

Albert Woolfolk, 45, was found beaten and stabbed to death inside his home on Habersham Avenue near Birchfield Drive on July 18, 2003. Woolfolk was a husband and father known for his energy and love for life.

Police charged Alvin Barfield after finding his fingerprints in the home nearly two decades later. However, those charges were dismissed for lack of evidence, leaving the case unsolved once again…
