On Dec. 12, 2023, shortly before 7:30 p.m., 23-year-old Ryan Boles was shot and killed while sitting in his car behind Synovus Bank on 13th St. in Phenix City, following the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce Christmas party.
During the mid-October trial, court video showed the unprovoked attack, an apparent crime of opportunity that ended a life filled with promise and light.
