COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Security measures are changing at Columbus City Service building as the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office introduces new technology and adjusts public entry points.
The updates, recommended by Sheriff Greg Countryman, are part of a broader plan to enhance safety in municipal buildings.
Maj. Curtis Lockette of the Sheriff’s Office said City Council members were briefed on the changes during an executive session last week.
The biggest change for visitors will be at the entrances. The east-side doors, closest to the Columbus Public Library, will be closed and used for emergency exits only…
