COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — For the first time in decades, the American flag is flying again outside the Girl Scouts’ Little House in Columbus.
The flagpole at the site had been inoperable for nearly 30 years, but thanks to a community fundraising effort, the local troops now have a new one just in time for Veterans Day.
“We have not had a working flagpole in the past 30 years,” one troop leader said. “With this new flagpole, we’re once again able to fly the American flag and the symbol of our organization, the Girl Scout flag.”
