Widespread rain on Tuesday morning could help drought

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Happy Sunday! It has been an overcast and rather gloomy day across the area as a front moves through. While there have been scattered showers, most of this rain is light. Rainfall totals will not be impressive from today’s rain.

Monday & Tuesday: A low pressure system is set to move through Monday night. This will have a much better chance for rain.

Widespread showers will continue through Tuesday morning, impacting your morning commute. Some of this rain will be heavy at times, with estimated totals between 1-2 inches.

This will be a cold rain because our morning temps will be in the 40s as it passes through.

Rest of the Week: Behind this system, readings will be near freezing again on Wednesday.

Another good chance for rain is on track for late next week and will linger into the weekend. Temperatures will slowly warm into the 60s by next weekend (lows in the 40s)…
