COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Gray is accused of kidnapping, raping and murdering 25-year-old Renee Eldridge on July 4, 2015. The jury first received the case last Tuesday afternoon and deliberated for half a day on Wednesday before breaking for the holiday. In total, jurors have spent about five hours discussing the case.
Shortly after returning to the jury room Monday, jurors requested to review a police interview conducted with Gray in Valley, Ala., after Eldridge’s body was found in an Alabama creek. Superior Court Judge Tippi Burch allowed the hour-long interview to be replayed in the courtroom.
