COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Airport cut the ribbon Friday evening, on its newly-reconstructed primary runway. This is a project years in the making, and one of the largest airfield upgrades in the airport’s history.
Runway 6-24 officially reopened November 28th, after months of construction that started in August.
The $24 million project was funded primarily through federal and state aviation programs and was completed two days ahead of schedule.
