Columbus Council approves 10-year lease with Historic Westville that clears way for reopening

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — After more than five years of financial struggles, Historic Westville Inc. took a significant step Tuesday morning to bring the 1850s working village back to viability.

The Columbus Council approved a new 10-year lease with Historic Westville to use the city-owned property off South Lumpkin Road. The unanimous vote followed a presentation by Historic Westville Board of Trustees President Thornton Jordan and Executive Director April Kirk on the nonprofit organization’s progress since closing in 2023.
