Columbus airport concerns expressed at City Council

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — What started out as a routine airport update became a debate over money, oversight, and control at the Columbus Airport. Airport leaders pitched a major expansion project, but some councilors pushed back.

Columbus airport representatives came before city council touting growth and a major investment ahead. Airport director Amber Clark highlighted the airport’s economic impact and recent projects.

Clark also presented plans for a new general aviation terminal saying it’s designed to support corporate travel, military operations and medical flights. But questions quickly turned to money and Council members pressed the airport on whether the project is sustainable…
