Showers settle in for much of the day

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Thursday morning! We’re starting the day on a damp note as scattered showers continue to move into the region. These showers will become more widespread and steadier as we go through the morning. Temperatures are sitting in the mid 50s early on, so it’s a mild but soggy start.

As we head into the afternoon, showers will persist, with a few heavier pockets at times and even the chance of an isolated rumble of thunder. Afternoon highs will climb into the low 60s. While some of the rain tapers off this evening, the cold front responsible for the wet weather won’t fully clear the area until after midnight.

Once that front moves through overnight, temperatures will dip a bit, settling into the mid 40s by Friday morning…
