Arctic Front to Bring Strong Winds, Falling Temperatures This Week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)-Mild overnight temperatures will stick around through Sunday night and into Monday morning, setting the stage for areas of morning fog. That calm weather won’t last long, though, as an Arctic front is expected to move in early this week.

Winds will increase on Monday and remain breezy through New Year’s Eve, pulling much colder air into the region. Once the front passes, temperatures will drop quickly. By Tuesday morning, low temperatures are forecast to fall into the mid to upper 20s, with wind chill values making it feel even colder—ranging from 18° to 23°.

Freezing and below-freezing temperatures are expected to continue through Friday morning. Daytime highs will remain cool throughout the week, gradually recovering to the mid-40s to mid-50s by the end of the week…
