COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – An estimated 90 new affordable housing units are set to become available in 2026, reserved specifically for low-income households in Columbus.
The units are intended to be a starting point to increase affordable housing in the fountain city. Columbus lacks roughly 15,000 units, according to a housing authority member. City officials believe the new units are a necessary step in the right direction.
Miles Crossing targets seniors
Miles Crossing is a $27 million project to provide 90 apartments, 80 of which will be for low-income seniors. The apartment complex is located in front of A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium near Fifth Street and Fifth Avenue.
