COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Columbus police made 21 arrests and recovered six firearms during a New Year’s Eve enforcement detail that included both criminal activity suppression and DUI enforcement.
The Columbus Police Department conducted Special Operations and Traffic Unit details on New Year’s Eve and over a five-day period from December 27-31, 2025.
New Year’s Eve operations
The Special Operations Unit made 141 contacts, resulting in 16 arrests and seven warrants cleared. Officers recovered six firearms and seized drugs including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, promethazine and other pills.
