Secretary Hegseth’s study of women in military combat roles draws concern from one advocate

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Secretary of Defense on Tuesday initiated a six-month review of the “operational effectiveness” of women in ground combat positions.

Women have been in those combat arms positions for about a decade. Their path to jobs was cleared back in 2015 when three women — Kristen Griest, Shaye Haver, Lisa Jaster — graduated from U.S. Army Ranger School here at Fort Benning.
