Storms end; Now the cold moves in for AL and GA

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Following this morning’s severe weather, we did have a few damage reports across the region. Notably, downed trees from strong winds in Salem, Al. We will thankfully have calmer weather in our forecast.

RAINFALL: Rainfall totals across the area range from 0.5-1.5 inches. Some local amounts may be slightly higher or lower. Despite this rain, Columbus remains below average for the month.

Sunday: These lingering showers and clouds will clear up by tomorrow morning, leaving us with clear skies for Sunday. Our cold front will push through, meaning temperatures will struggle to get out of the 50s on Sunday.

Next Week: Get ready for cold temperatures next week. We have several mornings below freezing in the forecast. Lows will drop into the 20s on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Plus, highs will not get out of the lower 50s.

There will be a very small warm up on Wednesday (just above freezing), but then we are right back into the 20s on Friday and Saturday morning. Highs on Thursday will likely be in the 40s.

Rain chances remain slim this next week. Only a few pop-up showers are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons…
