The nationwide trend of GameStop closures has reached Columbus.
The GameStop store in Peachtree Mall, 3131 Manchester Expressway, has closed. It is one of what the “gsclosing” blog covering GameStop reports to be 470 locations closing this month. And it follows what the entertainment website Polygon reported to be 590 store closings last year.
According to TimeOut magazine, GameStop peaked in 2015 with more than 6,000 global locations. By February 2024, its total number of locations had dropped by nearly a third, with 2,915 GameStop locations in the United States remaining as of January 2025…
