Hospital staff, community honor Army veteran and Lee County deputy with honor walk

Hospital staff, family members, and local law enforcement gathered at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ga., to honor the life and legacy of retired Army Sgt. 1st Class and Lee County, Ala., sheriff’s deputy Kevin Hagberg during an honor walk.

Hagberg, 55, was hospitalized Dec. 28 after suffering multiple strokes. With the support of his wife, Jennifer Hagberg, he will be an organ donor, allowing his legacy of service to continue by helping others in need.

Hagberg served in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Afghanistan. Following his military service, he worked with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where he most recently served…
