COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Muscogee County School District delayed the start of classes by two hours on Monday because of a threat of freezing weather and icy road conditions.
These are difficult decisions that impact 30,000 students, 5,000 teachers, and staff. And Superintendent Dr. David Lewis says they are not made in a vacuum.
“Every situation is totally different,” he said. “And that’s why we utilize the expertise of local experts as well as state and national experts, to triangulate that information and make the best decision possible. And I’ve been very comfortable with all the decisions we’ve made.”…
