First responders in Lee, Russell counties work several fires Saturday

First responders across Lee and Russell counties responded to several fires Saturday afternoon.

Mount Olive Fire Department and Fort Mitchell Fire Department responded to a brush fire threatening structures on Griggs Road around 1:00 p.m. central standard time. Crews were able to extinguish the blaze before it reached structures.

Minutes later, Salem Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the area of the 500 block of Lee Road 253 around 2:20 p.m. central standard time. No structures were involved and no injuries were reported.

About 30 minutes, Beauregard Volunteer Department responded to a brush fire on Lee Road 42 at Lee Road 430 around 1:55 p.m. central standard time. Salem Volunteer Fire department and Southwest Lee County Volunteer Fire Department also responded. No injuries were reported and no structures caught on fire…
