COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Just days after two local Del Taco restaurants closed abruptly, the company says efforts are underway to reopen them.
The locations on Hamilton Road in Columbus and Highway 280 in Phenix City closed Tuesday. A spokesperson for the company says the shutdowns are tied to ongoing bankruptcy proceedings involving the franchise operator, Matadoor Restaurant Group.
The California-based fast food chain says it received no advance notice that the restaurants would be closing. In total, 14 units were shuttered, including all Del Taco restaurants in Georgia— Atlanta and Macon—as well as a site in Chattanooga, Tennessee…
