Cold start to the week, but a warm-up is on the way

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Monday morning! The cold air has returned as we begin the final week of February, and you can definitely feel it as you step outside. Morning lows are in the 30s, but with strong, gusty winds, wind chills are sitting in the 20s across the entire area.

We will see plenty of sunshine today, which will help brighten things up, but temperatures will stay quite chilly from start to finish. By midday, readings will be close to 40 degrees, with afternoon highs reaching the mid 40s. Northwest winds will gust between 20 and 25 miles per hour at times, keeping that cold bite in the air through the afternoon.

Tonight, temperatures will drop quickly into the mid 20s under clear skies. Winds will remain breezy at times this evening, but they should gradually calm down by daybreak Tuesday…
