Opelika police arrest 6 in connection with vehicle break-ins, recover stolen firearms

OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) – The Opelika Police Department arrested four adults and two juveniles Feb. 27 in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins at local apartment complexes.

Officers responded at approximately 4:52 a.m. to a report of two men breaking into a truck at The Austin Apartments, located at 3000 Ballfields Loop. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspects fleeing in a burgundy passenger car.

While some officers remained at the complex to meet with victims, others patrolled the surrounding area for the vehicle. Officers later located a car matching the description at an apartment complex on Dale Avenue…
