Georgia Power teams up with Safe Kids Columbus to prevent drownings

FORTSON, Ga. (WRBL) — Georgia Power has partnered with Safe Kids Columbus to help prevent drowning deaths in local bodies of water.

For decades life jacket loner stations have been spread across the Chattahoochee Valley with the goal of preventing drownings. Safe Kids Columbus Executive Director, Pam Fair, says partnering with Georgia Power has increased the supply of life jackets available.

“Their seasons where we didn’t have the lifejackets to support. And when Georgia Power came on board, along with the River Safety Committee, it was a game changer,” Fair said…
