More than 30 goats help clear overgrown vegetation at south Columbus wastewater plant

COLUMBUS, Ohio — More than 30 goats are taking on an unusual job at a Columbus water reclamation plant, helping clear acres of overgrown and invasive vegetation in a safe, environmentally friendly way.

The goats, owned by Lauren Cain, are from a local Pataskala-area farm through “Goats on the Go.”

They are currently grazing at the Southerly Water Reclamation Plant, where they are working to clear approximately 1.6 acres of poisonous brush and dense vegetation. Cain knows each of her goats by name, pointing out two by the names of “English Muffin” and “Nugget.”…
