Deadline approaches for property tax ballot initiative

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The grassroots effort to put the issue of abolishing property taxes in front of Ohio voters is less than a month away from its deadline.

The ballot initiative to eliminate property taxes has brought an outpouring of support and backlash. Some say they’re sick of high taxes, while others say the impact could be detrimental.

Ohioans to Protect Public Services, an organization launched in response to the property tax abolishment campaign, said the move would be catastrophic for local emergency services and schools.
