Columbus weather: Muggy, spotty showers storms, clearing Friday afternoon

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The Columbus weather outlook is continued hot and humid, with scattered showers and storms. Here are the details from Storm Team 4.

Columbus weather: Hot, sticky

A weakening area of showers will move in from the west this morning and mostly fizzle out by midday. A very warm, humid air mass will be conducive to some scattered showers and storms again later in the afternoon and evening, with spotty coverage. Temperatures will rise into the upper 80s, with uncomfortably muggy conditions pushing the heat index into the upper 90s.

Low pressure will track from the Upper Midwest to Ontario tonight, with widespread severe weather in the Midwest southward to the southern Plains, as a cold front runs into steamy air.

A heat advisory is in effect for northern Ohio, where the heat index could reach 100 in some places.

Columbus weather tomorrow: Scattered showers early

A trailing cold front will cross Ohio in the late morning and early afternoon, accompanied by scattered showers and storms. Temperatures will top out in the mid-80s, with humidity lowering behind the front.

Columbus weather looking ahead: Pleasant start to weekend, rain returns Sunday

High pressure will briefly build over the region, ideal for the Columbus Arts Festival, and Picnic with the Pops Central Ohio Saturday evening at Columbus Commons. Clouds will increase ahead of another cold front that will a few rounds of rain and rumbles Sunday. Much cooler and drier conditions will arrive for the start of next week.
