The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is implementing a new deer management program modeled after Michigan’s successful initiative, deploying refrigerated trailers to collect donated venison and address mounting concerns over deer overpopulation, crop damage and declining hunter participation.
At the same time, the program will help feed thousands of food-insecure Ohio residents.
