A portion of Interstate 480 in Cuyahoga County now carries the name of a Euclid police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Gov. Mike DeWine held a ceremonial bill signing Monday at the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Sign Shop in Columbus to formally recognize Senate Bill 334, which designates the stretch of I-480 between Lancaster Drive and I-77 as the “Officer Jacob J. Derbin Memorial Highway.”
Derbin, 23, was shot and killed on May 11, 2024, while responding to a domestic violence call. He had been with the Euclid Police Department for less than a year at the time of his death.
