4 to 8″ of rain fell Wednesday night across portions of eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia including Gallia, Mason and Jackson Counties, resulting in widespread flooding this morning.
Some locations saw twice the amount of monthly rainfall for September in just a few hours time.
Numerous roads were flooded and in some cases washed out.
With more rounds of torrential rain later tonight, Friday and again Saturday we’re under an extended Weather Alert until Sunday morning.
While afternoon rains have become lighter and more scattered we’re watching another disturbance in western Ohio with an enhancement to rain/storms that will shift east across eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia later tonight. While we don’t expect rain totals on par with last night…even 1″ could result in renewed flash flooding in some locations and that’s a distinct possibility…
