Unsolved homicide in northeast Columbus reaches six years

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The unsolved homicide of a 15-year-old boy on the Northeast Side has reached six years.

According to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, Columbus police are still seeking information in the death of Dawaun Lewis-Taylor, who was gunned down on Sept. 29, 2020, in the Forest Park neighborhood in the middle of the afternoon.

Officers arrived in the 4800 block of Heatherton Drive, near Northtowne Park, and found Lewis-Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition but later was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. that day.

At the time of the shooting, it was alleged that a silver Chrysler 300 sped away east on Trent Road, toward Northtowne Boulevard. Since then, however, no new leads have been reported to police…
