The average Dunkin’ location sells hundreds of donuts every day, and one store in Ohio called for all hands on deck after receiving an order for 6,000. However, it ended up giving most of them away after discovering the person who placed it only wanted a tiny fraction of that amount.
It’s been more than 75 years since the chain formerly known as “Dunkin’ Donuts” opened its first outpost in Massachusetts, which spawned an international culinary empire that currently boasts around 14,200 stores around the globe.
As of 2018, the chain that rebranded to Dunkin’ the following year was selling more than 2.9 billion donuts and Munchkins on an annual basis. Based on those numbers, that means the average store moves around 590 of those items each day, although employees at some locations say they stock more than 1,000 when they open for business…
