State Wildlife Officer Mark Williams Jr., assigned to Franklin County, received a report of a white-tailed deer carcass that had been dumped at a car wash in Reynoldsburg. A surveillance camera helped Officer Williams determine a suspect. Officer Williams found the suspect was a commercial nuisance wild animal control operator who removed a deer carcass from a private property and dumped it at the car wash. The individual was charged for littering, pleaded guilty, and was ordered to pay $200 in fines and court costs.
During the 2026 Ohio State Fair, State Wildlife Officer John Coffman, assigned to Fayette County, worked in the Trappers Cabin with members of the Ohio State Trappers Association. The Trappers Cabin provides an opportunity for Ohioans to learn about all of Ohio’s furbearing species.
