COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Authorities have arrested a man more than three years after a fatal shooting outside of a Columbus nightclub.
29-year-old Gvon Thornton was taken into custody in connection to the shooting death of Dalan Wellman on July 26, 2020, outside the Story Lounge nightclub , according to a spokesperson from the U.S. Department of Justice. He was arrested by the Columbus division of the United States Marshals Service.
Thornton and two others were charged in December on five felony counts related to Wellman’s death over three years ago. His charges include two counts of murder and one each of aggravated murder, attempted murder, and felonious assault.

Officers on July 26, 2020, found Wellman, 21, and a 19-year-old shot just outside of the Story Lounge nightclub a little after 2 a.m. Both were taken to Grant Medical Center where Wellman was pronounced dead.
