Central Ohio McDonald’s restaurants are now offering the chain’s new Double Big Mac

The Double Big Mac — that’s four beef patties for those counting — is back on the menu at McDonald’s locations throughout central Ohio.

McDonald’s introduced the beefed-up burger in 2020, but COVID shutdowns and supply-chain issues did it in. Its reintroduction for 2024 isn’t obvious yet on drive-thru menus, but it’s there for the asking.

According to the chain’s app, the Double Big Mac weighs in at 780 calories, vs. 590 for the two-pattied version. It’s going for $6.79 in Columbus, vs. $4.99 for the not-as-Big Mac.

The reviews are what one might expect. A Washington Post headline writer called it “too much of a good (bad) thing.” A writer for the Arizona Republic declared it “better than you think it is,” while concluding that the opinions of others “depends on your capacity for gluttony.”
