Saddle up! Cowboy bar coming to Ohio with mechanical bull, barbecue

A cowboy bar popular in Nashville, Tennessee; Norfolk, Virginia; Atlanta and Arlington, Texas, is riding into Columbus with a location at Easton Town Center.

No bull.

Wait, make that a yes on the bull. The PBR Cowboy Bar + Smokehouse will have a mechanical bull, along with live music, line dancing and barbecue.

PBR, by the way, stands for Professional Bull Riders, an arena-touring bull-riding league that has franchised its cowboy bars from Maryland to Missouri. Columbus will be its 15th location.

Publicists said it will open sometime in the early part of the year but offered no specific date. It will be located at 3950 Gramercy St. at Easton, in an 8,400-square-foot space that formerly housed an Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant.

The menu will include house-smoked meats, burgers and jumbo wings that are brined for 24 hours. A curated drink menu will feature a variety of whiskeys, specialty cocktails, spirit flights, wine, and national and local beers.

PBR Cowboy Bar will include a media wall with broadcasts of major sporting events (including its own bull-riding), multiple bars, private VIP booths and an outdoor patio.
