A new restaurant is coming to Bexley, Ohio

A popular local restaurant known for its breakfast is planning to open a third location in Bexley.

Are you a fan of Katalina’s? If the answer is yes, then you might want to know that Katalina’s recently announced plans to open a third restaurant in Bexley – which will be called Katalina’s Tres – in a social media post that was published on January 16. The restaurant will be located at 2741 E Main St and is expected to open its doors later this year.

Per Katalina’s website, the restaurant is named after owner Kathleen Day. Katalina is her “alter-ego… that quirky friend bursting with creativity and personality” who offers made from scratch food at her restaurants. At Katalina’s Tres, customers can expect to find her original pancake balls, which are made with flour from the Ohio-based business Fowler’s Mill. Katalina’s original pancake balls can be filled with Nutella, dulce de leche, or Katalina’s pumpkin apple butter.

Also on Katalina’s menu are items like “hens-in-a-basket” (two eggs inside two slices of toasted sourdough), Mexican French toast (which consists of battered and toasted brioche bread covered with Mexican pure cane sugar, and is topped with tamarind sugar and powdered sugar), a breakfast chicken sandwich (which comes with a Southern-fried chicken breast, a sunny-side up egg, Amish cheddar, and a little bit of Frank’s Red Hot), and a loaded okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake. Katalina’s take on okonomiyaki has a Latin twist and is made with purple and white potatoes, okonomiyaki flour, cabbage, and corn before being topped with a sunny-side up egg, bacon bits, green onions, piri-piri, and citrus aioli.
