One dead, one in critical condition after west Columbus crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash on the far west side of the city.

Officers were called to the Westland area of Norton Road and Clairbrook Avenue at 8:30 p.m. on the report of a crash involving a motorcycle. Columbus police said the motorcycle was traveling south on Norton Road when it struck a GMC truck that was attempting to turn left from Norton Rd. onto Clairbrook Ave.

New witness comes forward, causing delay in Jason Meade murder trial

The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:39 p.m. while the motorcycle passenger was taken to Grant Medical Center and listed in critical condition. The driver and passengers of the truck were uninjured.

The Accident Investigation Unit continues to investigate the crash.
