Mansfield company moves headquarters to Westerville

A Mansfield manufacturing company has moved its headquarters to Westerville.

Sensience, formerly the Therm-O-Disc division of Emerson, has leased 30,000 square feet at 570 Polaris Parkway in the Westar development. The company’s engineering, product management, sales and support functions will be housed in the office, with an initial workforce of 80, which is expected to rise to 100 next year.

“This new location gives us the space to grow, expands the talent pool we can access, and puts us close to both major highways and an international airport,” Julie Furber, Sensience CEO said in a news release.

Sensience became an independent company in June 2022, when it was acquired by One Rock Capital Partners and broke off from Emerson.

The company manufactures a variety of temperature, pressure and gas-detecting sensors for the HVAC, automotive and other industries. Sensience recently became the first company to manufacture a sensor to detect A2L refrigerants, which are potentially inflammatory, in air conditioners.
