Regarding the Feb. 8 Louis Villalobos column “Girl Scout Cookies aren’t good, but buy them anyway.” I am an enthusiastic supporter of the Girl Scout movement, but when it comes to Girls Scout cookies, let’s admit that they are pure junk food that hugely contribute to the widespread obesity of our fellow Americans and much of the profit that they generate end up with organizations different from the local girl scout groups.

In short, if someone wants to support their local Girl Scouts, then they should directly donate cash to them.

In defense of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies

Regarding the Feb. 8 Louie Villalobos column “Girl Scout Cookies aren’t good, but buy them anyway.” Good for him giving a shout out to the Girl Scouts of America, a fine institution for a very long time. But I wonder if he has a culinary deficit issue he ought to address. Has he never eaten chocolate Thin Mints? Tasteless? Hogwash.
