Columbus and Central Ohio Weather
COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — The transition in the overall weather pattern across central Ohio continues Tuesday. Monday will remain uneventful in the daytime, but the night will bring a system that may cause some impacts for the Tuesday morning commute.
A center of low pressure will bring a round of rain showers into parts of central and southern Ohio between about 8 and 10 PM. That low looks to stick just south of the Ohio River, which keeps the bulk of the system along and southeast of I-71.
As temperatures drop during the night, rain will begin to mix with snowflakes. That lingers into the overnight and early Tuesday morning hours.
Because road surface temperatures will remain well above freezing, most of the snow that falls will melt fairly quickly. Accumulation is more likely on grassy surfaces.
Snowfall totals will vary greatly throughout the region. Many places will simply see nothing, with a dusting, at best, expect for parts of Columbus. A few select areas may see increased bands of moisture that would increase snowfall rates.
