Woman pleads guilty to kidnapping twins, faces 20 years

In Columbus, Ohio, a 25-year-old woman has pleaded guilty in federal court this week for the kidnapping of 5-month-old twins who were left unattended in a running car, subsequently abandoning one of them near an airport.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio disclosed that Nalah Jackson will serve a 20-year prison sentence after admitting to two counts of kidnapping a minor.

On December 19, 2022, at approximately 10 p.m., Jackson departed from Donato’s Pizza in Columbus, taking off in a Honda Accord with the two infants still secured in the back seat. Meanwhile, the children’s mother was inside the pizza restaurant picking up a delivery order. Following the car theft, Jackson drove across western and central Ohio.

Around 3 a.m. on December 20, Jackson halted at Dayton International Airport, leaving the car in a lot with the infants inside, and entered the airport premises. She attempted to arrange for an Uber to locate the Honda but was unable to pay for the service. Later, Jackson retrieved the vehicle but removed one of the twins, leaving him in the parking lot where he was discovered by a passerby “in his car seat wrapped in a quilt between two vehicles.”
