The city of Columbus is seeking the closure of the downtown Avalon Night Club, a venue marred by violence, including a recent fatal shooting in June. The Columbus City Attorney’s office confirmed to The Dispatch the filing of a motion to shut down the establishment located at 205 N. 5th Street in response to multiple violations, including failing to employ properly licensed security guards.
