Crew game rescheduled to make way for Leagues Cup matches

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A Columbus Crew game has been rescheduled so that the team can compete in the final rounds of the Leagues Cup.

The Crew’s away matchup with the Philadelphia Union — originally scheduled for Saturday — will be played on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m., the team announced Sunday. This change is because both teams are set to face off in the semifinals of the Leagues Cup on Wednesday, with appearances in the tournament’s final and third place matches scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 25.

The winner of the semifinal between the Crew and Union will secure a spot in the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup and face off against either the Colorado Rapids or LAFC in the final of the Leagues Cup. The loser will compete for third place in the Leagues Cup, with a CONCACAF appearance on the line. The Crew will host both of their games.

Tickets to the semifinal at Lower.com Field are available now on the Crew’s website. Fans who purchase their semifinal tickets from the club will get priority presale access to either the final or third place match on Sunday.
