Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on Northwest Side identified by county coroner

A pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday on Columbus’ Northwest Side has been identified by the coroner’s office.

Richy Pierre, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday at 3 a.m. after being hit by a car while walking in an area west of Sawmill Place Boulevard near West Dublin Granville Road, Columbus police said.

Police believe the hit-and-run driver was operating a 2013 or 2014 white Scion xD headed east on West Granville Road when they struck Pierre and fled the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to contact the Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit at (614) 645-4767. Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-8477.
