Ohio State has the chance to spoil what could be a huge moment for Arch Manning at Texas in the future

If all goes to plan for Texas in 2024, quarterback Arch Manning will not have to play meaningful snaps for a second straight season. Former Ohio State Buckeye Quinn Ewers is set to lead the Longhorns on a path they hope takes them to play for it all in 2024. That same path could have Manning getting valuable reps in games that are out of hand .

Ideally, Manning is handed the keys for the 2025 season and he gets at least a full year as the starter for Texas.

We are looking into the future here, but When Texas opens up its 2025 campaign, it will be in Columbus. The two teams will play a home-and-home with the Buckeyes hosting in 2025, then traveling to take on the Longhorns in Texas during the 2026 season.

The 2025 game is set for Week 1 and the two teams will play on Aug. 30, 2025. Manning will be a junior by then but will have very little on-field time unless he has to become the starter early this season due to an injury to Ewers.

Coming into Columbus for a season opener is a tough ask, as it will likely be a night game in The Shoe. The Buckeyes have National Championship aspirations this season, so the feeling around the program could be really high or really low when the 2025 season comes around.
