Motorcyclist hospitalized after hit-skip on Downtown, Columbus interstate

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – A person riding a motorcycle has been hospitalized after a hit-skip occurred in Downtown, Columbus early Friday morning.

According to Columbus police, the exit ramp from Interstate 71 North to Interstate 70 West was closed for nearly an hour after a person on a motorcycle was struck by another vehicle.

The driver of the unknown vehicle fled the scene but was later found several minutes later at I-71 North and U.S. 315 North, according to police. The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, but their condition remains unknown.

Traffic on I-71 North was backed up as far as State Route 104 for nearly two hours, but roads have since cleared up as of 8 a.m.
